H1N1 and Hands-on Workshops

There had been lots of information and misinformation floating around like deadly vapour droplets regarding H1N1 Flu Planning, vulnerable youth, and what to do. Going into so many different schools so often, I have always known that I’m at a higher risk for catching – and passing on – errant flu bugs.  At a recent meeting at the COC we had an H1N1 item on the agenda, namely that we were eliminating beards from our costume pile and that all props need to be wiped down with antibacterial wipes after each group. Interesting.

For me, I bring hand sanitizer with me, keep my costumes cleaned, and take care of myself (sleep, veggies, exercise, stress relief). Additionally, I’m going to look at what the experts are really saying about the spread of viruses, generally, as now is a good time to get some facts about general good practice.
